Tommy and Juliet were married on June 20th with a ceremony at Saint Julia’s Church in Weston followed by a reception at the Waltham Westin Hotel.
Juliet actually found me through a couple that I had done a wedding for a few years back! I still keep in touch with most of my couples, so Juliet’s brother, Jason, knew me and recommended me to his sister. Love when that happens.
Juliet and Tommy met on eharmony.com, and they bonded over DC sports teams. They clicked instantly and were absolutely inseparable by the time they got to their second date!
Juliet told me the story of when Tommy proposed and how she kept accidentally messing things up for him! They were vacationing in St. Lucia, and while they were out walking, they noticed a restaurant called Orlando’s. Tommy mentioned that he thought they should eat there for dinner the next day, and Juliet agreed.
The next day, Tommy suggested that it would be nice to take some pictures together, and when Juliet agreed, he arranged for a staff member to take some pictures. He got dressed up, but Juliet thought it would look weird for them to be all dressed up for dinner, and she didn’t want to go to the trouble. Well, that meant there wasn’t much time before the reservations, so Tommy suggested that they just go to dinner and take pictures the next day.
When they arrived at Orlando’s, the staff announced that they had a special table ready for them because they were on their honeymoon. When Juliet tried to explain that they weren’t on their honeymoon, the staff got confused, thinking they had reserved the table for a special occasion, as Tommy had asked for it! It turns out Tommy had meant to propose before dinner, but the argument over the clothes derailed his plans. He had to explain to the staff that there had been a “minor setback.”
Finally, the next day, they were ready for a photo shoot. The hotel was hosting a cocktail night, so there was a real reason to get dressed up, so they were both ready to go! But when Juliet got to the lobby, the staff was grinning and cracking up—the whole staff knew what was going on! They walked out to an area with a gorgeous view, and—at last—Tommy proposed!
On the day of the wedding itself, I started out at Juliet’s childhood home in Weston, while my second shooter, Sarah Dugan, was with Tommy. We shot some “getting ready” pictures before we headed over to the house for a first look and some family formals.
Before the ceremony, I met up with Juliet and Tommy to go over their timeline, and while I was there, I noticed an old piano on their porch. I jokingly asked if it would be around on their wedding day, and when we arrived—it was IN THE FOREST. They moved it just for me!
After the traditional wedding service, we headed to the town hall with the wedding party to shoot in some locations that reminded them of their life in Maryland. Then, we rounded up the troops and cruised over to the Weston for some serious dancing and all-around fun.
Juliet and Tommy, I’m so happy that Jason and Maya found me so that we could find one another too. You two are just so much fun, and I loved every moment with you!
